Fitness Thread 2018/19
I went back a few pages and couldn't see a thread for 2018 (maybe we don't need one!).

Im guessing there are people starting or in the process of their marathon training and people going to start in the gyms in Jan - this used to be a good site to get some good advice so lets see if this thread lasts!

Been off the booze and back in the gym for a month. First Crossfit session this morning at 5.30am. Its a killer but what I don't understand is why all the amateur crossfit people are so out of condition?

Aim is to get fit enough to do one last season of Saturday football next season before my 40th.

I was looking for this the other day. Alex the Iron was the one wasn’t he?

What’s the latest fitness craze in the UK? F45?

I guess the reason people don’t look fit in the average CrossFit class is because they do 2 sessions a week and nothing else. You need to be following a good diet, going 3-5 times a week as well as something else like some regular weights. CrossFit won’t get you ripped alone. Would get you functionally very fit if done right.

There's an F45 next to my office at St Katherine's Dock.

Popped there with a doris from work who wanted to get toned for her holiday and it's over £200 a month!!!

Fuck that

Re: Fitness Thread 2018/19
Whats F45? New HIT I would guess? £200 a month is a complete rip off. Its like crossfit though, how much is one of their boxes to set up, seriously? You only need a tiny little shell.

This guy helped me lose about 3 stone 4 years ago.

The main thing he did was explain about the foods and diet, i know we sort of all know it etc, but he really helped me understand about what i was eating and when and what it was doing to me.

Anyway, fitness is important but you wont get anywhere with weight and fat loss, without the right diet.

used to be fit, good level of football and massively into morning gym sessions.

two kids under 2 years old has reduced exercise massively.
Plus a job involving extensive travel and boozing.

Now my tits wobble like Redknapps boat when i brush my teeth. Need to get back into it.

Steven P, yes it is. he's a really nice guy.

He helped me when he worked at UP in Mayfair but moved up to Manchester and opened their place up there.

Bit far to travel! haha.

I think I will give crossfit 6 months and see how I get on. Throw in some regular swimming and some weights. Try not to over do it and gradually build up.

One thing I miss and hate about being on the road. Have a great gym 5 min walk from my gaff in Brussels Basic Fit.

Never seem to find time weekends. I go some times to the work one but it's pretty limited equipment wise. That and staying in Hotels fucks up your diet.

As madeesay says it's always a balance with diet and excercise to lose weight. I hate cardio but can just handle the bike for 30 mins.

Is that all weights based? Doesn't look to much different to the Michael Matthews BLS plan which you can get for a fiver from Amazon.

Re: Fitness Thread 2018/19
Steve, he has a trial for 24 quid for 4 weeks at the moment.

Well worth giving it a go if you wanted some great advice and help and plans.

I remember when i first went to him, he sent me a link to a site which said best 50 mens bodies.

He said have a look through there and tell me what you want to look like body wise at the end so i can tailor your programme. I said like fuck am i going to sit there saying oooh i like his body!

Buster

i haven't done that programme tbh mate.

When i went to him i had a personal plan. he gave me my full daily training programme for 2 weeks and daily diet sheets and supplements etc.

Then i went to see him every 2 weeks and had my body fats measured etc.

I've idea how people can stomach gyms - rip off prices in a bland cesspit infested by fat sweaty robots on treadmills.

I've taken up hiking, including some seriously steep assents. It killed at first but I can now feel the difference in fitness levels after only a few weeks.

Not only is it free, you get to witness this truly green and pleasant land - plus few things beat the scenery via the South/North Downs Way.

Took up boxing a couple of times a week, plus bike about 12 miles to and from work every day.

Hoping it'll be showing by Christmas.
